About Us

It started with a distraction.

I didn’t mean to start a t-shirt brand.
I was supposed to be doing something else (classic). But somewhere between a late-night meme spiral and another abandoned to-do list, the idea hit:

What if ADHD could be a fashion statement?

Not the inspirational kind. The real kind.
The kind that says “I forgot what I was saying mid-sentence”... and “I designed this shirt instead of replying to that one email I’ve been avoiding for 6 days.”

I created DistractiWear because I wanted clothes that felt like me, and I know I’m not the only one.

This brand is for:

We’re not here to fix anyone.
We’re here to laugh, relate, and wear our chaos with pride.

So yeah, this started as a distraction.
Now it’s a statement.
And if any of this sounds familiar, welcome. You’re in the right place.

💥 DistractiWear: because your brain deserves a t-shirt that gets it.

Why T-shirts?

Because sometimes you need to say a lot... without saying anything.
And if your shirt makes someone stop, point, and go “OMG same”? Even better.

I wanted to create designs that aren’t just “funny” or “cool” or “aesthetic”, but recognizably true.
The kind of shirts that:

  • make people laugh in the grocery line,
  • start quiet conversations in coffee shops,
  • feel like inside jokes you didn’t know you needed.

Every design is a little wink to the brain behind the scenes. Whether it’s a made-up word like percrastinator, a painfully accurate definition of hyperfocus, or just something that makes you feel seen, I make every piece with care, humor, and way too many open browser tabs.

The mission behind the jokes

DistractiWear exists to challenge the idea that ADHD or neurodivergence is something to be hidden, fixed, or worked around.
We’re not broken. We’re just wired differently, and honestly, sometimes hilariously.

Humor is how we connect.
But beneath the jokes, there’s something real:
A sense of relief.
Of recognition.
Of “wait… you too?”

That’s the heart of this brand.
Because when you wear something that gets you, you feel a little more grounded. A little more proud. Maybe even a little less alone.

A note from the distracted brain behind it all

Hi, I’m Joanna.
Yep, DistractiWear is a one-human show. I design the tees, write the copy, overthink the font pairings, and occasionally forget to eat lunch while hyperfocusing on new ideas.

I’m also neurodivergent, and that’s a big part of why this brand exists.
It’s not just a niche or a design theme. It’s my daily reality. And it’s what fuels my obsession with making things that feel true, not just trendy.

As a psychologist by training, I spend a lot of time exploring ADHD and the autism spectrum, not just for myself, but because I care deeply about how these experiences are understood (and misunderstood).
While I’m not currently licensed to practice where I live, I’m on a long-term path toward being able to offer professional diagnoses for adults in the future.

So no, I’m not here as some distant expert.
I’m here as someone who lives this stuff, learns about it constantly, and laughs about it often – right alongside you.

Because honestly?
Sometimes a funny T-shirt is the best way to say:

“Yes, my brain does that too.”
